Hullabaloo Festival 2017 - Pictures

On the 16th November 2017, I was fortunate enough to be asked to play on the Thursday at the Hullabaloo Festival, which was organised by friend and musical collaborator, Tim Hill. The evening was a blast and all the musicians & some of the audience sailed the music to many different levels and emotions. West End producer, Gerard Stephenson was the MC and musical captain of the evening, guiding us to the many different soundscapes that were already inside us and just waiting to be released.

The evening took place at the church next door to the original planned venue, The CICCIC in Taunton. I think the church venue added to the overall feeling and atmosphere of the night and was also a mighty beautiful building to behold. Local photographer Rob Elford was on hand to capture the evening on film and here are a few action shots taken from the gig.

Many thanks to all involved and hope to do something like this again, very soon.

Recording for Sardinian Film

This week I have been fortunate enough to play on a jazz soundtrack for an upcoming Sardinian film, with wonderful players (& people, alike) Tim Hill ( Alto/Soprano Sax) Dominic Lash (Double Bass) and Stef Giaconne (Tenor Sax)

The film is directed by Claudio Paletto and the musical director for the film is Stef Giaconne & recorded in Tim Hill's studio, in North Curry, Somerset. It's going to be shown in various film festivals, around Europe, before official release. I shall keep you posted.

In the meantime, here are a couple of photos from the recording session.

New Soundcloud uploads

This year has been totally phenomenal, musically speaking, for me. I have been fortunate enough to play with some ridiculously talented people and in some wonderful venues up and down the country, from music bars to festivals.

A new collaboration this year has seen me team up with sax maestro, Tim Hill, performing as a duo called Brazen Head. We have successfully released our first album and now will soon be recording our second, in between gigs. Here are a few Soundcloud links of some demo, rehearsal material we recorded, pre Bristol Hum festival gig, on Friday 15th  Sept 2017. Hope you enjoy!

This year has also seen me team up with sax supremo, Dave Jackson. We have played a small summer tour which produced some great live recordings, as well as meeting old and making  new friends and followers along the way. We kicked off at Skronkfest, London in August and finished in Nottingham in September. We will soon be releasing a collection of live recordings through MuteAnt Sounds and Se-Lo labels but here we have a sneak peak of a recording we made at our live show in Bristol. Enjoy!!

SKRONKFEST 2017 - Documentary

SKRONKFEST 2017

DOCUMENTARY

Back in August of this year I was fortunate enough to play at Skronkfest 2017 at New River Studios, London, in a duo with British Sax supremo, Dave Jackson. It was the first time he and I had met before, let alone play together and, was the start of out small summer tour, which took in London, Taunton, Bristol and Nottingham. It was a really great tour and Skronkfest holds some very awesome memories for me. It was a day of sonic and senses exploration and experiences, as well as meeting some bloody lovely people.

This is a short documentary of the event, filmed and produced by Amanda Stockley and Hazel Brown and with a couple of brief appearances from Dave and I. It's around 7mins long and 100% worth watching. If you missed this year's festival then book it in your diary for next year as it's a day to remember.
